This is an announcement as the end of the Derby contest nears (27 Oct).
Once the derby ends, we're allowed to reveal who we really are and link our real names (or other names) to our Derbysona (as we call it). Now, while my main writing sona isn't that popular, I will be moving Soultaming the Serpent to it for the continuation, which means I will be taking down the second draft of Soultaming the Serpent as it is available here.
In addition, since I don’t actually have an author newsletter or an author site for my main-sona, I decided to utilize the powers of Substack and will be converting this account instead.
This will mean a new link and hopefully (fingers crossed) no broken links. It also means that this site will change from the focus of Soultaming and the derby to more of my writing. I am hoping the process will be smooth, but if you tune in here and see a mess - my apologies in advance.
Before all that though, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who read, rated, voted, and bought Soultaming the Serpent. It was a truly lovely adventure for me and I hope the same for you.
I hope you stick around as I introduce more writing into your inbox slowly and help out an indie author who dreams of becoming a unicorn.
If you're interested in learning more about who I am and what I write, stay tuned and I will post a final update of the results from the derby (I’ve been taking screenshots of my Amazon category ranks almost every day since it went live) and I will be sharing info on how I reached the nice numbers.
And a last note - I am currently learning how to write proper long reviews. I tried to write one out for Not Your Mountain (see my short review and more info about the book here), but it ended up turning into a critique instead. If you have any tips or suggestions, please let me know.
My review format changes depending on the book 🤣 the only one that stays the same is the "why I don't recommend this book and won't read on"
TYPICAL I do an overview paragraph about the story and why I liked it. Depending on where I post it, a quick story recap. Then the specifics of my favorite parts. Last is a "why you should pick this book up"
